Internet – The Next Step

The Internet is everywhere nowadays. Mobile providers together with smartphone producers have put the World Wide Web through their mobile networks into the hands and pockets of everyone. Many hotels, shops and restaurants provide free WiFi for their clients. So, what should be the next step?

As to me, the next big step should be the worldwide step-by-step establishment of City-wide free wireless networks. Each city should provide all its citizens and guests with speed- and size-limited free wireless network. This would make all kinds of mobile devices, such as iPods, iPads and all other tablets without 3G/4G connectivity, really useful. You would be able to go everywhere within any city and still be connected.

Just imagine you have to travel abroad. You won’t need to buy yet another SIM-card for a local mobile provider, just to be able to check your e-mail or use a messenger. I don’t think that such city-wide WiFi network would be a big expense for the local city council, but it will surely provide great service for its citizens, tourists, local business and visiting investors.

Actually, such cities already exist and Internet connectivity works quite good there. Then, why not extend the service worldwide?

What do you think?

  1. Hi my friend! I wish to say that this post is awesome, nice
written and come with approximately all significant infos.
I would like to look extra posts like this .

  2. I was just searching for this info for some time. After
six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your site.
I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this type of informative
web sites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage.

  3. I would like to thank you for the efforts you have put in penning this website.
I really hope to view the same high-grade blog posts by you in the future as well.
In fact, your creative writing abilities
has inspired me to get my very own site now 😉

  4. It’s a really nice article. That’s probably going to happen. The Internet will probably be everywhere available. But future like that isn’t necessarily good; internet everywhere is a double-edged sword. We are risking an Orwellian society in which everyone’s every move is tracked.
